Virtuemart is Dead!!

I have been looking over the forums and Virtuemart appears to be a dead project. Maybe the estate of the late developer would release the project so that it could go on.

I do not understand why Joomla does not do something to help this worthy project. Thousands and thousands of Joomla users try to implement this shopping cart and many eventually just go away frustrated.

What good is this component if this error or some version of it shows up all over the sites of would be shop owners;

"Fatal Error Call to a member function on a non-object in" so many people have posted in frustraion some variation of this problem and nothing but the loudest silence is returned from the deceased developer.

Joomla needs to maybe entice a developer to create a project like Virtuemart but one that works and is supported.

Let us all bow our heads in a moment of silence.

I hope I don't get in trouble for this post but what are the chances of that since no one reads them anyway

Development is not only in forums, please check out developer portal, and see latest changes to the code and the trackers (FRQs+BUGs).

So this project is far of beeing dead.
