Developed a layaway module for Virtuemart, support USA, EUR and Canada currency, adding more soon. The add-on module follows API requirement (Checkout mode). API documentation can be found at http://www.layawaycart.com/doc I will upload the add-on module next. If you are an experienced VirtueMart developer, please contact me as the module may need some minor tweaking. Thanks!
