First-time user has issue with notices -- what do I do from here?(solved)

Hey all

I've never used VirtueMart before.

I've just downloaded and installed Joomla and a JoomlArt Template (JAPlayer) that contains VirtueMart. After my initial installation I received notices that there were Joomla updates as well as extension updates.

I successfully updated VirtueMart (3.6.10). However, after the update, I received the following notices at the top of the update screen:

alterTable ADD sgatr_virtuemart_customs.virtuemart_shoppergroup_id
alterTable ADD sgatr_virtuemart_product_customfields.noninheritable
alterTable ADD sgatr_virtuemart_userfields.placeholder
alterTable CHANGE sgatr_virtuemart_waitingusers.notify_date

It appears I am supposed ADD and CHANGE tables in my database. However, I don't want to do this without some confirmation from someone who understands VirtueMart.

Can anyone tell me (slowly, again, I'm a noob), what to do with these notices?

When I open the VirtueMart control panel, I get the error showing on the attached screen capture. I am going to follow the link shown there but I would still like some confirmation that adding and changing DB table entries is okay.
