Multi Variants not working since update 3.2.1

we've updated to vm 3.2.1. After the update the multi variants don't work anymore.
you can set up the custom field within the product, but at the front end, as soon as you choose the first option, you will be switched to an empty(?) site.
i attached three screen shots.

what could cause this crash?

I am facing the same issue with custom fields. Selecting the catevory, shows a blank page
