"Contact us" gives error 500

Hi, after I upgraded to 3.2.4 I get error 500 when trying to show the contact form in the frontend...

My server log say : PHP Fatal error:  Can't use method return value in write context in /sites/www.dietrecords.org
/public_html/components/com_virtuemart/views/vendor/view.html.php on line 111

I don't have ftp access to my site right now so I cannot disable / check my overrides - but since the error is pointing to components/com_virtuemart...  I assume the error is not in the overrides.

I'm using Joomla 3.7.4 with a heavy customized template and have not tried with protostar yet but my guess it that it won't solve the problem.

Anyone else having this issue too?
