In Virtuemart 2, I had a component installed called VM Shipping that let me select a flat rate for shipping per individual product or SKU.  This component doesn't seem to work in VM 3 on Joomla 3.  Is there a way (or a new component) that will let me charge a flat rate per each product in VM3 on Joomla 3?

The original shipping by weight, ZIP & countries plugin (not component) has been updated and is included in the aio component of VM3. If you men the shippingby rules plugin then see http://open-tools.net/virtuemart-2-extensions/vm2-shipping-by-rules-plugin.html

Nope, unless you can do a flat rate shipping cost per SKU, I don't believe the original weight, ZIP & countries one will work.  See attached screenshots of the one I'm talking about.  If this is gone, how can I possibly set a flat rate per specific SKU?

That was a third party extension, not part of standard VirtueMart, so you will need to contact that developer for an update.

I had tried that to no avail.

So the question remains, is there a way to set a flat rate shipping price per product SKU in Virtuemart anywhere????  I can't believe that I'm the only one running into this...

GJC Web Design

no - that is why the comp (I know it) was developed - from memory it keep a table of sku->ship price and a plugin to look it up...

Does the developer not answer your query?

I get no response from developer.

So how can I accomplish this within the new Joomla?

GJC Web Design

the component needs to be re-written for VM3

I also need this extension for VM3. I'm prepared to pay a developer to get it written - any volunteers?

I've actually been in touch with the original person who oversaw the sale and support of the VM Shipping module; and he's no longer involved.  He's put me in touch with the developer; he hasn't created anything for VM3/J!3, but he says willing for a price.
I'm working on an upgrade to Joomla 3, and could use this as well; in lieu of any alternative (for some reason...), but would also hope for it to offer the same sort of flat rate input for foreign shipping that it does for domestic - applying fixed and compounded shipping rates by SKU, just with the added variable of having a different set of rates based on selection of country.  The old module's foreign shipping field only tacked on a single surcharge for foreign shipping; rather per quantity or item.  Having a different set of rates for domestic and non-domestic orders, having that option is essential.

I could possibly others interested in touch with the developer; see if enough of us could work something out with him.  When I had contacted him myself, his one off charge was more than I could manage.  Not sure what options there might be for a group, or the best forum or format for working that out (I'm assuming this would not be the forum for something like that) but I'm open to ideas.
