How do I take off shipping cost off selected products?

Our site has a universal shipping charge set up to charge a shipping charge up to £35 then free for orders above this. Some products do not have a delivery charge e.g. courses. At the moment it is charging the shipping charge on all items. I cannot see where to change this in the shipping section under shop. I cannot get a response from the company who built the site as they are not now hosting it.

I am a basic admin user who updates the site, puts on new products etc.  but have no knowledge of programming. The site is based on Joomla 2.5 but I do not know which Virtuemart version it is (built mid-late 2013)

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have an event coming up and when people book they are charged delivery each time.

There are various possibilities..

prob the simplest is to assign a minimum weight to your current method .. say 0.02

then give your courses a weight of 0.01 so they don't trigger the weight method

you will need also a 2nd method (free) with a max weight of 0.01999999
