Kaspersky Anti-Virus Phishing Message with paying with PayPal (VM3)

Hello,

I'm developing a site which came with VirtueMart 3.0.6.2 as part of the template.  I seem to be having an issue I never experienced on another site running v2, whereby once the user has completed the shopping cart and confirms the order, the re-direct to PayPal is blocked by Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2015, with it suggesting it's a phishing attempt.

An order is created and set to 'Pending' status.  The user is given a link to over-ride the block, after which they can confirm the order again and it passes over to PayPal.  This creates a new order, however.

I think it might be the PayPal logo that is causing this issue, as I cannot put my PayPal logo onto a secure server.  Is there a way to stop Virtuemart providing one to PayPal?  I'm sure I don't have one in use on my VM2 installation elsewhere, but the only options are -- Default -- or one of the images, no option for -- none --

If any screenshots are required, let me know and I will oblige.

Thanks,

- Adam.

Hi Adam,

An interesting dilemma.  I recently upgraded to VM3 and Joomla 3 and I run Kaspersky, but dont have https.

I have a few months ago had orders going to pending - even though the person had paid.  For me the issue was that since I didn't receive a confirmed order (you know, the email with the attachement symbol) I had found it hard to see that an order had actually been made and paid for. I mainually went in and changed orders to 'confirmed by shopper'

I had not used https because I go to a third party site (paypal). Is it possible that the server has malware or your site does, and the malware is mimicking kaspersky? I found that after I tried to recently download a social media app, that I got a lot of maleware on my own pc that kaspersky didnt alert or remove so I had to get a malware specific app to remove that - not sure how to clean up a site though - perhaps your developer might be better at doing that and sorting out this question.

Be very good to hear how you go.  Do you know if the paypal logo for sure was causing an issue with the secure server as I have that logo on my site too.  Have had no issues with paypal payments in the past (they all go through, just the notification issue from VM) so it would be interesting to find out why VM is not sending a confirmed order on some of my customer purchases too ..

This version is known to be insecure. You should be using VM3.0.8 at the very least - current latest release is 3.0.9.4    http://virtuemart.net/news/latest-news/469-security-release-vm3-0-8

Pending no longer exists as an Order Status to send email. If payment has been made at PayPal then a confirmed status should be returned.
