Parent (or child) product maximum quantity restriction in cart

Hi all.

I am testing product setup that contain a parent product with child variants attached. I need to restrict the maximum number of the parent (or child) product that a person is able to add to their cart.

For example: if Parent Product 1 has a maximum of 10 (regardless of what child variants are chosen) that is allowed to be added to the cart prior to checkout a user cannot add any more of the Parent Product 1 to their cart.

Is this possible?

I am using: Joomla 3.4.1 + VM 3.0.8

Have you tried the setting at the product > tab "product status" > Maximum Purchase Quantity?
