Dropdown menu in string type custom field

Hi everybody!

I am having difficulties with creating a string type custom field, which would have a dropdown menu, when I add it to a product. I create a new custom field with the title Languages, choose string type, enter default values English;German;Latin and save. And then when I choose this custom field in the product custom field tab I get a custom field titled Languages and in the value box there is written English;German;Latin instead of a selectable dropdown menu. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I am using VirtueMart 3.0.6.2 on joomla 3.4.
