Searching meta tags

I want to expand the search provided by the VirtueMart Search Product so that it searches the product meta description and meta keywords. Does anyone know where the SQL query that does the search is built? I tried adding the fields into the code in plugins/search/virtuemart/virtuemart.php but that seems to have had no effect??

I don't know how you can modify the VM search to do that.
But if you are looking for a 3rd party, this feature exists in the search provided by custom filters

I've already tried to persuade the client to buy the Custom Filters and Custom Fields For All extensions but he's not keen on spending money!  I will keep trying because I think they look perfect for the job!

Someone must know where the query is built and/or why the functions in plugins/search/virtuemart/virtuemart.php don't seem to be used??

I am interested in this, too.
I am using Breakdesigns´s custom filters pro, which is brilliant!


But I am also using the VMvendor multivendor component.
A vendor can edit/enter custom fields, but there is unfortunately no way to show the field "meta Keywords" in frontend within the VMVendor edit page of a product.
Any solution is highly appreciated.

the queries are formed in models/product.php
