I upgraded from VM2 to VM3,  O now se Weeor loading: com_virtuemart, 1. Uninstalling/reinstalling did not help. The VM error log says:

I used phpMyAdmin to make the SQL  corrections but still no change. I cannot select VM for a menu item, it does not show. When I install VM it hangs then gives the WSOD (white screen of death). VM all in one is installed, tables updated. I've read many posts on this but can't solve. Oh, I uninstalled XMAP too. Help greatly appreciated, thanks!

I've placed a support ticket to my host re: php memory.

Step by step tips really help. Screenshots attached. Thank you!!!

So is VM actually successfully installed? i.e. if you run the installation does it complete?

If not it may be because your hitting your upload limit (search for installing Joomla extensions from the tmp folder
Or if your using the gzip pack the server can't unpack it ( search repacking as zip)

server log shows nothing vm related

VM not successfully installed. VM AIO was installed. I've tried both the tmp (uploading a folder first) file and uploading the VM com_virtuemart.3.0.2.tar.gz and com_virtuemart.3.0.3.zip using the extension manager. I'm in Firefox 35.0. I see a spinning sort of icon but after awhile a white screen. It does not go to "You have successfully installed VM". My host responded to my support ticket "The server's php.ini is set with memory_limit = 512M so if you're hitting a lower ceiling it must be overridden by code somewhere on your site."

Ideas? How do i find what has overridden the memory? Thanks!

The VM component was NOT in the database's xxx_extensions table. So using phpMyAdmin I inserted a row and copied verbatim the data from a working VM copy I have in a laptop local Joomla site. And it solved my non-functioning Community Builder login problem too!

BTW updating from VM3.02 to 3.0.4 did not solve the problem. Something went wrong in my VM2 > VM3migration. I may have accidentally installed the VM3 All-in-One first which is wrong.  VM3 core should be first per specs. When all else fails, read the instructions. ;D Thanks to all who helped! 8)
