Send invoice email before taking payment

Hi All,

Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere, my search did not bring anything up.

I need to send a notification to the vendor and customer of the order before payment has been taken, basically at the point you leave the site to go to the payment gateway the email needs to be sent.

Does anybody know how to achieve this?
