no vat using gift voucher . So, the calculated vat do not corresponds with the total price


which alternative to the " subtract payment discount before tax/shipping" field from virtuemart 1   in virtuemart 2

probably using the taxes & rules in product. but which?

tax per product,:     
price modifier before or after tax,
tax per bill,
price modifier before or after tax per bill.


actually: taxe per product and : NOT OK

Price modifier before tax should give you the discount before tax.

I am running VM2.022b on a Joomla 2.5.14, and have a similar issue but with minor detail changes:
In our on-line store, we give our customers a 5% discount if they choose a certain payment type. This should only affect the products amount, so should be applied before tax/shipping. On a previous version of Virtuemart, i managed to get this working properly by ticking the box "subtract payment discount before tax/shipping".
Regarding tax, I was able to reach the same results on my current version of Virtuemart, but now the 5% discount is also applied to shipping instead of products amount only.
In example:
An order is 10€ of products + 5€ of shipping. Tax is 23% and applies to both products and shipping
5% discount results
- Old VM : 17.84€
- VM 2.X : 17.53€ - Lower because the 5% discount is also applied to shipping.

Is there a way to change the way VM does the equation, or am I missing any easier solution?

At this time, i haven't  any solution.

I tried all of the possibility, playing with the taxes and rules without success.

=> Very stange to have so many difficult to configure sommething that shoud be the default setting !!!

Hi, I'm using Joomla 2.5.9 and VirtueMart 2.0.2 and I'm having the same issue , it is not deducting the discount (coupon) before the tax by using "price modifiers before tax" and I've even tested all the arithmetic operations but it's not working with anyone of them. Please let me know if anybody knows any updates/patches on this issue. Thanks

This was solved in later versions - and you are strongly advised to update. Both your Joomla and VirtueMart versions are old and have known critical security issues which have already been exploited by hackers. Current versions are J2.5.14 and VM2.0.24

Hello everyone,
New to VirtueMart and old user of Joomla 1.5.

Now, we are stuck with this same issue with the Tax, we are using Joomla 2.5.16, VirtueMart 2.0.24c, and PHP 5.2.17...
It's being calculated using the full price, and what we need to get is the tax after the Coupon has been applied.  Already tried the VAT Tax option, and no luck.

Any ideas? Hacks? Updates that I'm missing?
