Shipping price for individual items

Hi

Can someone please help me with this issue...

On my clients website he offers free shipping for non-international orders now he was taken on new range of products and he needs to be able to charge the customer for shipping only on the new range of products

example
products A, B, C = free shipping
products D, E, F = shipping charger

how can i setup the shop so when an order is place and the products D,E or F is in the cart it need to add the shipping charger

i can seem to find any solutions for this.

Also noticed that a shipping charge can not be applied to a category, i think this would be a good feature where you can apply a shipping charge of XX to a category this option would solve my current problem

any advise would be much appreciated

if you don't use weights in your calculations just give free ones a very low weight and the others something else..

then 2 methods each filtering by weight

but what happens when they order one of each?

re cat shipping - always hits the problem - what happens when a product from one cat and one from another - should they accumulate etc etc

most plugins work on a global cart basis.. gets complicated with individual rates for each product..
