Is there anyway to allow modifying of custom fields from cart

Problem I am having (Not a bug).

For all of my services (we don't sell products) I can have add-ons which I have made custom fields. I am good with this so far. What I would like to have is the option of editing those custom field choices from the cart instead of having to go back to product page and basically make new selections and then add that to cart again.

So from a non programmers point of view it the drop-down list for the custom fields would show on the cart.

Of course this could be an operator error on my part but have not found a workaround for this type of workflow.
