How to set shipping by Weight

Hello,

I have VM 2.0.2. I understand that this new VM doesn't have many shipping modules out yet. So I need to set up a shipping fee structure using the built-in "shipping by weight". But I am a bit confused...

I have 3 shipping prices.

• 1 lb - 2 lb =  $7
• 2.01 lb - 4 lb = $14
• 4.01 lb - 6 lb = $21

I already made one shipping rule in Shipping Methods but do I need to create 3 different rules? As when I add 2 items (over 4 lb total) , the shipping cost doesn't double automatically...

• Shipping Name - UPS Ground
• Countries - US
• ZIP Range - 000000 to 999999
• Weight - 0.01 - 2 lb
• Minimum # products - 1 to 99
• Shipment Cost - $7
• ...also I added all the shopper groups, -anonymous- and -default-

yes you have to make new rules.
The shipping cost are not double automatically.

Afaik, it was the same in VM1.
