Joomla! 3.0.3. - JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find Joomla XML setup file

Is the current version of VirtueMart not compatible with Joomla! version, 3.0.3.?

I tried to install it and I get the error:
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find Joomla XML setup file

So I guess VM 2 is NOT compatible with the current version of Joomla.

Do I have to look for another solution that does what VM does?

VM2 is stable with the current LTR version of Joomla (2.5.9) but not with the current STR version. See http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=114342
