Virtuemart version: 2.0.20b
Joomla version: 2.5.9

Hi,

Earlier this week I was able to edit, create, and view prices for products in VM admin. I logged in today and suddenly I cannot view product prices when I edit a product. On new products, I cannot set the price. I can see prices on the front end and prices add to the cart fine.  I can see the correct prices for the corresponding virtuemart_product_id's in MySQL in the jos_virtuemart_product_prices table.  I can also see the price in the product list.

Strangely (coincidentally?), there is also suddenly a variant price modifier of $1.00 on all of my items that I cannot track down.I only mention this in case it is related to this problem.

I have included screenshots in case that helps explain what I'm seeing.

Any ideas on why I suddenly cannot see, edit, or add prices in the back end?

Thank you!

Edited to add: I am aware of the issue where you have to hit save after entering a new price, then you can set the remaining fields for the price. However, this is not the issue. I cannot even see existing prices.

Does not make sense if you made no changes to configuration but this suddenly happened. Did the host change anything on the server? Anyone else have access to the backend?

The only thing I notice is that if you are showing the products to all shopper groups then you do not need to specify the groups.
Have you maybe selected "Enable shoppergroup specific price display" for any/all of the shopper groups?

Thanks for your input.

Yes, I have enabled shopper specific price display because I have different prices for anonymous (MSRP), wholesale, and preferred wholesale. The site sells only to registered wholesale customers, no retail sales.

The price entry worked earlier this week with this config and I had multiple shopper group based prices specified for items and it worked fine. I even have quantity based prices setup and that worked fine too.  I turned off that setting on all shopper groups just now, to test if that would get the prices to show in admin, but it did not make a difference.

No changes to hosting that I know of.

Any other ideas why the prrices won't populate only to the admin section?

Nope. Never seen it like that.

If you enable shopper group specific pricing then you should set that (or those) groups in the price area. Currently it says Please select.

Maybe someone else has an idea?

Yes, it's weird because the space is there so it looks like there are not prices in the database and it looks like I can add a price, but in reality there are at least 3 prices already setup for that item in the database, with the corresponding shopper groups specified for each price but they do not show, and I cannot add any more prices at all, even for a new item. None of the existing prices show and I can't add any more.   Like I mentioned in my first post, I am aware of the issue where you have to type in a price then hit save to be able to fill the additional info, however that is not the issue here. When I hit save nothing happens. No new records are added to the database.

See the next 2 screenshots. I enter a price and a shopper group & hit save. Then next screenshot shows product successfully saved but no product price. And no new records in MySQL db.

Thanks for your input Kelvyn, I appreciate your attention.
Does anyone else have any ideas?

FIXED - I just wanted to update in case anyone else has this problem.

It looks like one of the files in administrator/components/com_virtuemart must have gotten overwritten by an older version, or maybe it was corrupted somehow.

Anyway, I put a fresh set of that whole directory from the virtuemart 2.0.20a files and now it works again. I can see/edit/add all of my prices AND the issue where there was a variant price modifier of $1.00 on all of my items is gone.
