error can't establish secure connection to the server "local host"

Hi Guys,
I have been searching this forum and on google and can not find anything regarding this topic.

Everything works fine until i try to change shipping address or apply a shipment method or apply a payment method.
I get the failed to open page cannot open the page can't establish a secure connection to the server "localhost"

Is this a common thing with a local server is there a way i can test the shopping cart without uploading the site to my host?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Localhosts do not handle SSL by default, you need to set this up, but the method depends on your local server. eg with WAMP you can try this:  http://www.phpjoel.com/2011/04/07/installing-ssl-using-openssl-on-a-wamp-localhost/

Or you can avoid SSL by deselecting "Enable SSL for sensitive areas (recommended)" in VM Configuration/Shop
