Category ordering number failure

Using Joomla 2.5.8, VM 2.0.18 but this error accured also in earlier releases.

If I ceate a new category and want to give this category the next order number under details -> order, I only can choose the order no. of an existing category. If I choose this one I get the same order no. and not an order no. increased by one. So I have always the same order no. for different categorys. It is not possible to sort them.

To solve this problem I changed the ordering value in the virtuemart_category table by hand. Any ideas?

You set the ordering in the list? If you create a new category, maybe just dont choose any ordering.

Unfortunately it´s the same. I added a new category without doing anything just saving it and the category got the ordering number of an existing category. Is there any counter I can reset manually in the tables?

By the way, in the category list you can change the order numbers in the box but unfortunately you can´t save them. This would be a very helpful improvement because moving the categories with the narrows up and down takes much more time in comparison to enter some numbers ;-) just an idea...

Of course you can store them, use the little disk icon in the table header

Apologize! Of course and even the wrong number is stored you can change it and save it correctly with disk icon in the category list. Sorry again!
