Hello all,

I did an upgrade to 2.0.4 this week and wish I had not.  It unplublished all my product pictures which I have now sorted.

It has also done something else and I cannot for the life of me work out what and my client is going mental.  :(

If you look at that category, you will see all 494 of my products are showing in there when only the Ash Grove Boys school should be.

I only upgraded to fix another problem, which it did but has created a whole new load of hassle

Any help would be massively appreciated

You did an upgrade on a live shop without testing it first ?

But what did you upgrade from? You should by now be using 2.0.14

Can you try turning off all SEF to check if that is an issue, and make sure that all products are listed within their own categories only.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I upgraded from 2.0.12 so thought it would be straight forward.

Just tried taking the SEF off and it made no difference.  Also all products seem to be in the correct category.

One thing I have noticed though, when I click on 'shop' on the main menu, it brings up a blank page.  Does this throw any light on the problem?

OK as the client is screaming blue murder at me, I decided to delete the site and do restore via Akeeba.

All good untily ou go on the products listing page and get 500 errors. i am losing the will to live :-(

Any ideas?

OK It was a server issue.  PHP needed to be increased to 64mb.  So I have the back up restored and back to where I started with around ten hours wasted.

So I have a shop which I cannot upgrade to the latest secure version because it will screw my categories, unpublish my pictures and do all sorts of other evil to it.

Eek. Time to look for an alternative me thinks.

You had a backup all the time. Then test the update on a backup. Before you do it turn off all SEF, make sure it works then turn on SEF.

Seing all products each category can only be a url issue, like effectively adding an id=0 to the end of the url. Pictures should not be unpublished - there is nothing in the update code to do that.

Again, 500 error can be SEF problems, or caused by .htaccess
