Hello,

i`m already working on this problem for a few weeks now. i have a joomla site (2.5.4) and vm 2.06 everything works OK, but when an order is placed there are no emails send to the client and to the store owner. When the status of an order is changed to canceled there is an email send to both.

now i upgraded my website to 2.5.6 and vm to 2.0.8e, because somebody said that would be the solution but that is not the answer to my question.

the problem is still there. I can send emails to everybody and use my own smtp server for that.

please can anybody advice in what to do? this problem is there for to long now.

I am having exactly the same problem.

No confirmation emails received until the order status is changed (to either confirmed or cancelled) and then the vendor and customer receive emails OK.

Any ideas?

Joomla: 2.5.1
VM: 2.0.3
PHP: 5.2.17

Guess I'll try upgrading VM. Is it Ok to use the live updater in the VM backend (if I backupo first) The update it will install is 2.0.8

Thanks bytelord

Best to update using Joomla's extension installer. Current data will not be overwritten, but do it on a backup site anyway.

Please better try 209b :)
It works better!

Be aware that 2.0.6 above have changes in templates/layouts. Take a look also on http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files do download layout_changes to 208e, also keep mind that also 206 have changes to templates.

If you have upgrading problems using aio update, you should then download from the above link the tar.gz files and upgrade manually ... be sure that you will upgrade both AIO and VM core (Full backup first ... may you should use free akeeba backup solution)

Will give it a try on my test website.

But what i find strange is that on a clean install with the beez template and no other components or plugins installed it also doesn`t work.

Hello,

Does your joomla installation is able to send mail? Do you use any third party payment plugin? If yes did you try with the standard shipment and payment plugin to checkout and see if the mails are been received?
