Set product navigation in the right order

Hey,

I am using the product navigation. However: it navigates alphabetically and not according to the order set in the backend.
So when I click on the first product in a category on the frontend the productdetails page displays the previous and next arrows.

Is there a way to set navigation to the order set in the configuration?
So when I click on the first product the product details page displays only the next arrow going to the next product in line etc. etc.
