Can't disable Top-Ten function

Hello everybody,

I'm new in this forum. I've installed virtuamart 2.0.14 for a little shop. But I don't need the Top-Ten, the newest product function and so on. I tried to disable these functions in the configation, but when I save the changes they are still activated. Can you help me to resolve this problem?

So you have gone to

Config-->templates-->deselected show top 10 -->Save and close?

I had not the right permissions. I was only Administrator. I need super user rights.
