Discount Problems

Hi,

I have been trying to add a 50% discount for all categories.. No matter what I do, it does not show up when checking out. The prices of the products remain the same from when they were added.. So no discount is being applied at all.

here are the steps:

• Products > Taxes and Calculation Rules
  Enter Calculation Rule Name (i.e. 50% Discount)
  Check "published" to make it active
  Add a description
  Select the Type of Arithmetic Operation - Seen as the client isn't charging tax, I selected Price modifier before tax
  Select the math operation (in this case it would be -%)
  Value - enter the percentage - I entered 50.00
  Currency - South african Rand
  Product Category (all categories were included)
  Shopper groups (all were selected)
  Country (all were selected)
  SAVE in order to get a list for state/province
  State/Province Region (select all)
  Visible for Shopper - YES
  Visible for vendor (this doesn't matter as it doesn't apply to you)
  

What am I doing wrong??
Using Joomla! 2.5.7 and Virtuemart 2.0.12f

In your back office (Configuration; prices) see if you have prices well configured

The prices are configured correctly.
I found that by selecting "Price modifier for Profit Margin" where it asks to Select the Type of Arithmetic Operation, that seems to have solved the problem.. but I am not sure if this is the corrrect Arithmetic Operation.

Can you clear this up for me?
