Customizing adding custom fields to product

I'm looking for a way to use a + / - button, such as the quantity to add subproducts to a product.

On the product order page it would show something like:
Main Product - $100
customization - $10 + / - (+ will add on, - will take it out of the cart if previously added)

Can anyone direct me to a general area of how I could do this?
