Registration form not showing at checkout on one site; Ok on another

I have a client who runs two seperate Virtuemart 2 sites

Both have the same configuration : Joomla 2.5.7, Virtuemart 2.0.12b, etc. The same template, etc. Just different goods.

On one site, when a visitor clicks on the green "Go to checkout" button, they are redirected to the page where they have a login form and a registration form as expected and needed: (http://umwelttechnologien.ch/index.php/component/virtuemart/user/editaddresscheckoutBT?Itemid=0)
On the second site, when the click the same button, it takes them to a login page without a registration form - not what is expected (http://messtechnik-shop.ch/index.php/component/users/?view=login)

I've compared all the setting in both Virtuemart configuration and in the Joomla User Manager Options and the settings are identical. This is a major problem, of course for my client. I would be grateful for any help.

In addition there is a second Problem which has appeared since updating to the lates version of Virtuemart today. When attempting to use the basket process, a message now appears showing "Attention no standard shopper group set ", which I can't get rid of. I've found a lot of posts on this but nothing appears to help.

So I tried something else and discovered that I had a menu link for signed in users to sign out from the site. This was blocking the registration form.
I set that link to "public" and the problem went away.
