Hello All,
I have Joomla! 2.5.9 and Virtuemart 2.0.20b

on my store checkout I use the standard built in PayPal checkout, in general everything works on the payment side, however when visitors get back to the site the status of the payment isn't changing to confirm automatically (I guess PayPal isn't getting this info to the website system... that the payment was successfully made)
PLEASE NOTE that in the paypal configuration I do have the setting to change to "confirmed" on successful transaction and I DON'T USE any SEF components.

Please help:
- do I need to setup some special return URL?
- do I need to change something in the code?

PLEASE GUYS HELP ME AS I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO AND I DIDN'T FIND ANY SOLUTION.... THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!  ;)

I didn't find a solution. :-\

After being redirected back to my website after the payment is done on PayPal I get to a page with "Thank you for your order.. with order # " which is good, the client and admin get the email notification about the order with PENDING status.

The status isn't changing on CMS and not on the email? can you guys please help???

I use this as the return url on PayPal http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=pluginresponse&task=pluginnotification&tmpl=component

any ideas?

Interesting.

In this forum section people had different issues with Paypal (anyone could check such threads one by one or with the help of search button)

Forum members analyzed so called server logs in attempt to resolve issues with Paypal.

So, Jessica, you visited that thread that I recommend for you.

BUT

Did you paid attention to these words there?

I then turned on  debug in the paypal config screen.
IN the debug in my logs file i see :

message: _processIPN FROM IPN VALIDATION:HTTP/1.0 200 OK
message: _processIPN valid_ipn:VERIFIED
