Inventory on Child Products issue and cart issue

Hi All,

i have 2 problems which i would like to solve ASAP due to online shop launch. Basically is a clothing website and for each item i need to have 2 drop downs for colour and size. (no price difference, all prices are the same for all sizes) ie Colour- Red, Blue, Green and size - 1, 2, 3.

1st Problem - Inventory on Child Products:

I followed a guide on how to keep inventory for this sort of scenario, and i had to create a parent item, create and custom field plugin, and add the child products under this parent product. i have done this successfully and i can also see the drop down menus. The only problem is that when i confirm and commit the purchase and also mark it as shipped, inventory is not being updated that from that particle item i have 4 from 5 left. further to this, i also noticed that that as soon as the purchase was made, the column "ordered" in the inventory is also not updating.

2nd Problem - Cart Issue:

When and item is added in cart, I can't choose a different item and add it to the same purchase. Also when i delete the item that i have just added, i can't add a different item again. everything works again once i log off and log back in.
