Online payment in UK

Hi all,

I am pretty new too vm, and i am need of a payment gateway were customers can pay with credit or debit card from the uk in pound sterling, i have the ssl certificate ready to go i just need suggestions for the payment gateway. obviously the cheaper the better and free is always great!

If you already have a merchant card processing account then you can use off-line processing if the mercant provider will accept it. http://extensions.virtuemart.net/extensions-virtuemart-2/offline-credit-card-processing-detail

Or you can accept cards with a premium or business account via PayPal. 

No payment processing is free.

Paypal redirects me off my site though doesn't it? im looking for someway to take payments via card on without having to leave the website, will sagepay allow me to do this?

I don't use Sagepay, but I'd guess it is html based, so handled on the SagePay site. Ask OpenGlobal.
