Documentation of the Relationship Among Prices

Has anyone written down in one place the definitions of and the relationships among the various price factors that appear on the Configuration Pricing page:
Baseprice
Baseprice modificator (sic, should be modifier)
New baseprice modificated by choosen product variant (sic, should be chosen)
Discounted Price without tax
Salesprice without tax
Tax amount
Baseprice with Tax but without discounts
Final salesprice
Salesprice with discount, but without override
Discount amount
standarized price (sic, should be standardized)

The tool tips shown there are often not clear. (Example: "Useful for the you save X money")

The closest documentation I can find is http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/wiki/VM2_Configuration_Menu but it is incomplete.

The developers have apparently thrown up their hands in surrender with the statement, The choices can be dizzying, and they are SO SIMILAR! The best way to understand this in a non-live store is to check ALL the boxes, view it in your store, then vary it checking and un-checking one box at a time.

Of course, that's not the "best way."
