Add Personalization To Products

I purchased the product builder plug in so we could add personalization to products. Problem is it only works if you go to the product from the menu bar. If you access products in another way, such as from the regular vm categories then there is no spot to add personalization. There are 3 types of personalization and each one has a different cost plus they have to type in the name they want personalized. It needs to be with the specific product they order. Does anyone know of a way to make this work as it is on other shopping carts?
