Resetting Shipping Cost when Adding other products

I'm running into an issue here when you add another product to the cart. I need the cart to reset the shipping cost so that customers don't add another 20kg of product and pay for only 1kg. How can I get the shipping cost to reset every time a product get modified (added and/or deleted)?
