Upgrade from 1.1.6 to current

I truly feel ill having to perform this task, but I know I am blessed,  because as a last resort, I know I can hand-type the information for all 4000 of my products into a wordpress shopping cart and be free of Virtuemart, and Joomla! forever!

Be that as it may, I am curious if there is any real way to get from 1.16 to the current.
i know I have to use the ugly interface and the tiny font, but the import / export process seems impossible.

I see from VirtueMart's own web site that I can't export from the old and import to the new

that's one kick in the nuts, but the other is that I can't migrate either

What a hit to the nut sacks from Joomla! and VirtueMart!

Simple CSV is dead, and CSV Improved also returns a kick in the nut sack.

Is there anyway this awful Joomla! crap is gonna go on any longer like this?
