Product text fields not showing up on invoice.

Product has text fields to enter in for a product.
When the order is placed, nothing shows up for the product the product text fields in the back end of the site, does not show up on invoices either.

1. Why does this not work? 
2. Is there a manual somewhere for VM2 ?
