Potential serious error in Virtuemart - Tax

Dear VirtueMart users and developer,

We noticed a strange issue in Virtuemart and we think its an error (or we are mistaken)

In the item-pricing section we have different fields. Standard you have the costprice (price excl vat) and the nett price (price incl BTW). So far so good
For promotion purposes are are often discounting a product and in that case we Werkelijke korting/Real discount where we are entering the total (incl VAT) price and are tagging the box: overwrote final.

Now see the issue:
The item is priced against 8.50 which is what i want BUT the VAT amount is calculated over the baseprice (and should have been over the discounted price). So the VAT amount on checkout and on final invoice is the wrong amount. It makes no difference for the total amount but for customer who can deduct the VAT the number is actually wrong.

Please let us know if this is an (hopefully known) error or that we fix this via a parameter setting.

Is difficult to someone help you if don't tell us your joomla and vm version.

Seems that you want to apply the tax on the discount price. When you add a product under Product pricing you should select "Overwrite price to be taxed".
