UPS unit of measurement error shipping to canada

Has anyone recived this error?

Error: UPS was not able to process the Shipping Rate Request. Error Code: 110548. Error Description: A shipment cannot have a KGS/IN or LBS/CM as its unit of measurements

I did find this post ( http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=206.0 ) with a fix to change units of measurement, but this appears to be for an older version, I'm using 1.1.8 and the code does not match the fix.

Can anyone help?
