Hi a quick question.

is it possible to set up using VM1 or VM2 a website that will allow my users to set up their own shops, ((and have all their products listed in a general catalog-this would be helpful but not necessary))? all solutions are welcome, using CB or SEBLOD and any other plugin or any functional solution/configuration, if not are they any plans to implement such a feature into future VM releases? any solution (configuration/plugin/idea) is welcome, Thank You :)

Thank you.
Thanks to the VM team for making VM i use it on my website with great success :)

I think you are describing multi-vendor capability. This will be possible with VM2 hopefully within a few months as it has been written to be vendor based. The only other cart program that I know can do this is Magento (not the "free" version) which can be made to work with some additional programming. However, at around $3,000 a year it may not work out profitable....

thank you jenkinhill.
could you tell me approximatively when VM2 will be released (whats the timespan 2? or 8 months?)? because investing 3k in magento to change back to VM after a few months is not such a thrilling idea. as you said 3k a year is way too much for that little project (3k is the total budget), i found another module which could do the trick its an auction module not free but much less than the 3k magento asks, but it will need a lot of work so maybe its better for me to wait for VM2 a month or two before looking for another solution.

Thank you for your kind response.

Sorry, no idea of the actual timescale. There are so many different ways for multivendor to be used, that even though it may work for some people exactly as they wish, for others it will not do what they want without additional programming.

thank you for your time. as far the solution to my problem i found a few option to consider they all require a lot of work but the will allow me me to set up a multivendor joomla based site, i have even found a multivendor VM based solution integrated to CB and JS. nothing as fancy as a fully featured VM store but its a start. hope to see VM2 comming out soon, i have a last question will VM2 be compatible with CB or JS, i think those are the features everybody is waiting for.
