Paypal Pro - no credit card type option in check out (selected in admin)

hello, i am using virtuemart 1.1.3, and joomla in legacy mode

i have installed the paypal pro module, and set it up according to instructions

name: Paypal pro
code: PP_WPP
payment class name: ps_paypal_wpp
Payment method type: credit card: (checked)
accepted credit card types: (visa, mastercard, american express) (also tried with only visa)

when i go to the checkout process, i do not have an input box besid 'credit card type:' but i am able to fill in the other credit card info.

why isn't the credit card type showing?

I am experiencing the exact same issue.
Do we know if cc payments will still go through?
Please include me when a solution is found.
