Wrong email address?

I am trying to get Virtuemart accepting credit cards throgh PayPal. However, i want to test everything in sandbox to prevent any disasters. So I edited the Paypal script as mentioned in the sticky to use sandbox. Fine... nowI put in the phoney email address that the sandbox site gives me yet I get this error:

We cannot process this transaction because there is a problem with the PayPal email address supplied by the seller. Please contact the seller to resolve the problem. If this payment is for an eBay listing, you can contact the seller via the "Ask Seller a Question" link on the listing page. When you have the correct email address, payment can be made at www.paypal.com.

What am I doing wrong?

Did you sign up for an account on the "developer" site? (This account is actually just a "management" account you will still need to make the Buyer and Seller accounts)

If you did signup and you didn't make the buyer and seller accounts this is what you will need to do...
Make two "fake" test accounts in the admin console of the developer site.

When you click on "Test Accounts" on the left it will probably show you no accounts (unless you've made one).  If you don't have any accounts click on the "preconfigured".  You'll get a screen like below



I've commented in some tips about what to do.

Once you've got one of each then make sure that in your paypal configuration of your payment types you have changed the "Payment Extra Info" line to point to the developer site

$url = "https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr";

and also change the "Payment email" to the test seller account email address.
