My first try at Joomla+VM for a small jewelrycompany.

The template is a heavily modified free one. There's quite a lot of harcoded tweaks to change appearance and functionality.

Because of layout-issues, the client wanted different variations of jewelry types as one product with extra attributes rather than different products. It's been a bit messy both concerning imagedisplay and orders. I use Mark Calf's "moreimages" mod for the productpage.

Comments? Ideas?

Site goes live today.

What if the same customer buys 2 times ? you have removed the option for login when someone have to pay, so what about the same email ?

loungepuppy

Correct.

We don't expect client to return frequently. Using "invisible" registration with emailadress as usernamen and random password the client can still register. The registration information is used for the buy. No registration email is sent to the client. An order confirmation is sent to the client but without the "check my order" link.

Thw whole reason for this is that loginprocedure was deemed uneccesary and potentially troublesome for the client. This way, customer can easily do a "one-time-buy" without having to be a member.

Okay but if a returning customer buys, the email have to be another, if not, you have to delete the order yourself og hack the code and autogenerate a dummy email each time. But lets see how it turns out, also maybe SEO optimizing is good value here.

Thx for looking at my site Claus!

Either the returning customer is still logged in (without knowing it) resulting in him bypassing registration and going straight to confirm or update detalis. Or, he is not logged in any longer and joomla will generate a new usernamn and password, for example hisname@hisdomain.co1   co2 and so on.

And yes, the client will delete orders after they are processed. Currently, the pay-solution depends on them looking in the ordersection to see wether the client has payed or not.

Any thought about the layout btw?

Require Unique E-mail:  Yes No in global settings, could be an option, not sure its working (global settings in joomla)

Not into design really but i will try to make some during the next month

Yes.

Actually, when a user returns, his/her emailadress taken from the "customer infromation form" (the one that is actually used for user registration) is already "used" to create a user once before. Joomla solves this on it's own by creating a variation of the emailadress for the new silent registration. So NN@NN.com used the first time a user orders a product will the next time be NN@NN.co1, c02 and so on.
