Please take a look at our online computer store at www.wotsit.com.au it's finally coming together after 12 months or so.
It's using Joomla and VirtueMart with the Auspost plugin and a JoomlaShack template.
The only main issue I have left is the product scroller and the template not liking each other, but that a story for another thread.

Thanks to everyone on this forum and the Joomla one for helping with any problems we had along the way, your help is much appreciated.

It's definitely coming together - CONGRATS !!!  I can certainly empathize with the "after 12 months" part - mine is coming up on 18 months development (from concept to site) as we speak.

A couple of constructive suggestions . . .

I don't think you need the colored boxes for your product displays.  Truth be told, it kind of detracts from the products themselves.   As your site is a white-background based layout, I would suggest using slightly larger/sharper images without any colored boxes.  If you wanted to snaz things up a bit, you could always try the "reflective surface" trick with photoshop or whatever image-manipulation program you use.

May I ask what template you started with?

Again, congrats on the continuing site development - keep up the good work.

Simplicity

I dont mind the boxes, but they need to be the same height.

The boxes change height if a photo or text area is different to the others.

It normally only happens when one of the boxes has one product in it, like is the case at the moment.

It's the simplicity template from JoomlaShack, pretty much the way I got it with just a couple of layout changes.

Hi Mate,

Nice work, i am an aussie doing much the same www.cameradirect.com.au & www.printercartridges.com.au if you ever want someone local(ish) to share ideas with and help solve the never ending debugging issues i'd certainly enjoy having someone "real" to bounce ideas off.

I am no expert but as you know from going through the process you learn many tricks.
