Administration - Can't Open/Edit Payment or Shipping Methods - SOLVED

Hello,

I am problems with the Opening/Editing Payment or Shipping  Methods in the back end (Administrator side).  The system times out and give a 500 error.  From the front end, when checking out, I can't save my selection for Shipping and Payment methods.  The page just refreshes displaying the old data.  I can change and save the selection when the shop is set to single page checkout is enabled (currently turned off).

Any guidance on how to resolve the issue will be greatly appreciated. 

Additional information.  The site is migrated from a Joomla 3 version to 4 with virtuemart updated (also reinstalled).  I have another site on the same server which is exhibiting the same issue.  Version details below:

• Joomla 4.02.3
  
• Virtuemart 4.04 10688

That problem was fixed some versions ago. Test with the current beta/RC   http://dev.virtuemart.net/attachments/download/1335/com_virtuemart.4.0.7.10718_package_or_extract.zip
