Hi There:

Is there a place where people can see the current outstanding phpShop Bugs and their status ?

Also, is there somewhere where we can see Soeren's "Roadmap" for what he is working on now and what he is likely to do in the future ?

I think phpshop is great and Soeren is doing a "wonderful one person coding job", but to progress phpShop further, I think the "Community" needs somewhere they can go and see what is happening.

PS: I've posted Bug Reports and some get answered & solved straight away (which is great), while others get "looked at" by 80 -> 100 people, but never answered (or at least acknowledged).

Hello Peter,

When looking around on this site you will find some articles about what Soeren plans to do:

here: http://www.mambo-phpshop.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=72&Itemid=0
+ in forum threads (look to the responses in the 'wishlist' section)

Hi Gerald:

Thanks for the response.

I would think that the "Road Map" is not a pressing issue for most people, but knowing what "Bugs" have been identified/fixed and/or are still outstanding would be a good idea.

Maybe use of a mambo based Bug Tracking/Feature Request System like "Mospray" from www.caneblu.com is a possibility ?

It is hard try to search the forums to see if a bug or issue has already been raised by someone else as there are so many different ways a report can be worded.

I note that some errors are being logged in the mambo-phpshop tracker at http://mamboforge.net/tracker/

Is this the better place to log bugs or should it be done in these forums ?

Hello Peter,
please be patient. I'm nearly finished with my own Flyspray Bridge (I don't like MOSpray).
It will be the Main Task Management Tool for the Project then.

I REALLY like the bugtracker system you are useing!
I tracked down Flyspray and found MosSpray and FlysprayMe(by Krishan)
FlysprayMe comes really close.. still has a few bugs.. can't upload attachements
The workflow and look of mosSpray is a little bit of a pain.

YOURS works great.. I noticed you have your own Mambo bridge.

Would you consider sharing your Bridge?

Hello,

I also thought about sharing it, but as it is with all published components, I would have to prepare the package for the public, give support and and and.....
Currently I don't have time to do that.
I will soon upgrade to Flyspray 0.98 and after that it will be possible to get the package.

That's great.. I know you have a lot to do.
There is another possibility. FlysprayMe for Mambo works great, has nice icons and I found a work-around for the attachments problem I was having.  You can of course add file attachments, but in the Mambo component it's trying to write to a directory that doesn't exist.  The solution:

for FlysprayMe to work properly you need to add an "attachements" directory with correct permissions in the root of your website. I looked at the code.. just add the folder, it's easier than fixing the code.

Hi Anmtek,

Thank you so much for your post on how to get attachments uploaded in flysprayME. It worked for me.

By any chance have you experienced any problems downloading the attachment after uploading? Or, trying to view the uploaded attachments?

Every time I try, I get a corrupt file. I can't view the file, it is corrupt. And, when I download it, I can't open it because it is corrupt. Also, it seems that while the filename is the same as what was uploaded, sometimes the file downloaded is the index file, even when there is no index file in the directory (?).

I read somewhere on the flyspray website's mailing list archives that there is a patch for this corruption problem, but I couldn't find it. All patches are deleted off the mailings. Do you know anything about that?

Soeren, have you by any chance started on the 0.98 bridge? I tried 0.98 and it has no attachment problems, upload or download.

Thanks very much to anyone who can help.

Soeren

Hello,

the attachment bug is caused by a missing exit() statement in the index.php of FlySpray (which only causes problems when used in a bridge components).

I don't have played around with versio 0.98 yet, but I'm sure I will do soon.

Thanks so much for the flyspray tip!  There is an index.php under components/com_flyspray/scripts  is this where the exit(); function must be added?  Should I add it at the end?

Sorry, I'm not a php/html guy...more java!  And my apologies for asking an irrelevant question..I'm been racking my brains for  a solution to the attachment corruption problem with flyspray/joomla bridge.

Your flyspray bridge looks very cool!   8)You should seriously consider releasing it to the joomla community!  And you seemed to have fixed the attachment bug!

Keep up the wonderful work!  The community needs people like you.

Thanks in advance again, sorry.   8)

Soeren

Hello,

you must add the exit(); after readfile( "$path" );

    readfile("$path");
    exit;

in the index.php of Flyspray.

I've tried to integrate with Flyspray 0.9.8, but I think it's better to wait for Flyspray 0.9.9 or 1.0. I wanted to achieve that one could just leave the Flyspray files untouched (so upgrading would be really easy), but this won't do it.

It worked!  Thank you so much Soeren!    :)  To return the favor, if there is anyway I can help you let me know!  (like beta testing or writing java code/usability testing)

thanks so much, in addition to all your efforts, being able to do this too is much appreciated

once again thanks, and hope this will come through soon
