UPS shipping method caught in endless Loop (istraxx_ups, VM 3.4.2, Joomla 3.9.2)

When we set up the UPS plug for Virtumart, and run it in debug mode, we see that the USP system is returning a success and the values we expect.  However when virtumart goes to recalculate the purchase it generates an error (no details given)  and forces us to choose UPS method again, in an endless loop.  Even with  Virtumart set to debug I can not find the issue.

Just a heads up. the developer has still not responded to my ticket opened on 2/6.

Check your ticket, he should be avaiable by now. Has been ill some days ago.

Still no response today. We were forced to abandon this plugin and purchase another. I do notice that I meant to mark it high priority but it's only. Still it's been 7 business days with no response. Our customer now has a working site so that's our priority.
