Default category sorting backend

Although it seems to be a beginners question, I still have not found an adequate answer.
Every time I open VM backend Categories it shows categories alphabetically descending (Z-A). Obviously the sorting order can be reversed via the Category name column, but I cannot set it as the Default. Please advise.
I use VM 3.0.12 and Joomla 3.4.8.
