Thumbnails disappeared after update to 3.0.12

Hello

First of all I have searched the Forum and others have had Thumbnail issues but not quite the same.

When I updated to VM 3.0.12 half of my thumbnails disappeared. When I "reset Thumbs" they all disappeared.

I read there has been changes to thumbnail handling but I don't quite understand what I have to do to put everything back to the way it was. Currently my test site is not showing any thumbnails. I have Dynamic Thumbs enabled.

Any step-by-step (including which files to edit) would be appreciated.
