Media files (product images) not visible in back-end

I am not sure, but I think I am missing something.
I have added more than 600 products, but the product image (thumbnail) is not visible in the back-end.
See attached picture.
What am I doing wrong?

VM admin -> config->template-> Max items listed displaying media  ??
