Lost all products version 2.6.6

Hi - having a nightmare - I backed up my database and then used Tools -  'Reset all tables and do a fresh install' - thinking that I could import the sql backup and all would be OK - clearly not! How do I get my products , orders etc back  - I can see them in the SQL. Not sure what's happened?

Create a new empty database (named differently from the live one) and import your backup db into that.  Then in Joomla Global Config/Server change the db settings to the new one.
